ComEd, Synchronist Business Information System user since 1999, delivers electricity to more than 3.7 million customers in over 400 communities across Northern Illinois.
ComEd partners with communities and economic development organizations on its award winning program intended to ensure existing businesses in Northern Illinois remain economically viable while retaining jobs and investment in the communities served. Program partners have conducted over 1,800 visits to companies representing over 178,000 jobs throughout Northern Illinois.
In 2005, the program for the City of Chicago (known as the Chicago Industrial Trend Report) was named the best program of the year by the Business Retention and Expansion International (BREI) association at their 12th annual awards banquet.
Mayor Richard M. Daley said of the award, “Chicago has a rich history in manufacturing and we are dedicated to preserving our industrial corridors. This economic development program has helped the City create and enhance services for industrial businesses and plan better for future growth. Chicago is a better place because of this program and the dedication of our partners to industrial retention.”
